Construction begins on new pedestrian bridge over Shem Creek

Local News

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) – If you visit Shem Creek anytime soon, you’ll probably notice some construction that is taking place.

A barge and large crane were moved into place Tuesday, and crews are starting to set concrete supports for a pedestrian bridge that will end up stretching across Shem Creek.

Once completed, it will attach the walkway from around Mount Pleasant Seafood to the area in front of Tavern & Table.

The walkway will give access from one side to the other, so people on the Water’s Edge and Vickery’s side can park in the garage – easily and safely crossing the creek.
