Coroner identifies victim following fatal shooting at Max Quick Stop in N. Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Coroners Office has identified the victim who was fatally shot at the Max Quick Stop on McMillan Avenue.

Aterrio Monroe, 27, of Awendaw, was pronounced deceased at MUSC on May 12th as a result of a gunshot wound, according to Deputy Coroner Anita Hasert.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, Officers responded to that Max Quick Stop located on McMillan Avenue. On scene, Officers located Monroe lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.   

He was transported MUSC and later died overnight as a result of his injuries. 

Witnesses stated several people were fighting outside when gunfire occurred.   A suspect was seen fleeing the area possibly in a dark colored vehicle.
