Crews respond to morning fire in McClellanville

MCCLELLANVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – The Awendaw-McClellanville Fire Department responded to a fire at 358 Dupree Road at around 6:30 AM.

Crews found an elevated double wide home that was well involved in fire.

Crews fought both the fire and heavy gusts of coastal winds.

Crews were able to get the fire under control within the hour.

There have been no injuries reported and the cause is yet to be determined.

The people living in the home were asleep at the time of the fire but smoke alarms woke them up and they were able to escape.

Assistance was provided by Georgetown County Fire/EMS. The Isle of Palms and Mt. Pleasant Fire Departments covered our stations, and the Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad provided rehab services.
