ST. GEORGE, S.C. (WCBD) – The Dorchester County Board of Elections & Voter Registration will hold a Democratic Runoff Election on September 18th for the Dorchester County Council District 1 seat- which was held by Councilman Willie Davis from 1991 until his passing, according to spokesperson Tiffany Norton.

The runoff election, which was originally scheduled for September 11th was postponed due to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Florence and the Governor’s mandatory evacuation order and subsequent closure of government offices, Norton added.

All polling locations will be open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, September 18th. Residents will vote at the same polling location as the August 28th Primary.

Residents who did not vote in the primary election can still vote in the runoff.

The two candidates that will appear on the runoff ballot are Margaret Goodwine and Harriet Holman.

A valid photo ID must be presented to vote.
