Deputies seek public’s help in identifying home invasion suspects

Local News

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – Deputies in Orangeburg released photos of suspects who they say were involved in Saturday’s fatal home invasion.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell on Tuesday said investigators have been working non-stop to identify three subjects who kicked in a door at a residence on Geneva Court just after 12:00 a.m. Saturday.

A roommate told investigators he heard a loud noise just after midnight. Just minutes later, he heard at least two shots fired before someone kicked open his bedroom door.

He told officers the gunmen pointed weapons at him, but did not fire them. He later found his roommate lying next to a bedroom door.

Emergency personnel could find not vital signs when they arrived, according to a police report.

Sheriff Ravenell said the photos are hazy, but investigators are asking residents to look at both facial features as well as clothing to help identify the suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office at 803-534-3550 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
