HOLLY HILL, S.C. (AP) — The administrator in Orangeburg County says a new development with 100 homes shows Charleston’s growth is heading in that direction.

Administrator Harold Young said a developer bought land in Holly Hill for the homes.

Young told The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg that the developer wants to build single-family homes, but has not determined how big they will be or how much they will sell for.

Young says Charleston and Dorchester counties are filling with development, so it makes since that growth should continue west up Interstate 26 toward Orangeburg County.
