Dorchester County News

DORCHESTER, S.C. (WCBD) – Ashley Ridge High School was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon when a student ran from administrators, according to law enforcement.

Dorchester County School District Two (DD2) said that the student ran because administrators wanted to search his belongings.

He fled into a nearby neighborhood, where he was later located with the assistance of law enforcement.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office said that the lockdown was not related to any police activity in the area.

There was never any threat to the safety of the students or staff, according to DD2.
