ST. GEORGE, S.C. (WCBD) – Water has been shut off for a portion of St. George due to a break in the water system.

The St. George Water Department said customers located in the block of Memorial Blvd. down May Street to Murray Street, Murray to Ridge Street, down Ridge back to Memorial Blvd. will be without water until 4:00 p.m., possibly later.

Customers in these areas are also under a boil water advisory.

The system will be flushed and tested. Once results of those tests are known, officials will repeal the boil water advisory.

Once restored, water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for drinking or cooking.
