UPDATE: Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers identified the victim as 24-year-old Monty S. McCray from North Charleston.
According to Coroner Brouthers, McCray was pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday at the Medical University of South Carolina.
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in Dorchester County.
According to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened at the Azalea Park Apartments off Orangeburg Road.
Officials tell News 2 that three people were shot, one fatally. Deputies located the first two victims and then found the third victim around 30 minutes later.
As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, over 40 law enforcement officials remained on scene investigating. The area is secure and safe, according to DCSO.
DCSO said that they do not yet have information on a suspect or motive and that no arrests have been made.
