Deputies searching for suspects following reported shootout in Ridgeville

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in Dorchester County are searching for suspects involved in a reported shootout near the Randall’s Too convenience store in Ridgeville.

According to an incident report, deputies were dispatched to a “shooting in progress” in the 2200 block of Highway 61 in Ridgeville on Sunday.

Dispatch advised the responding deputies that the 911 caller, who is a clerk at the convenience store, stated there was a blue Avalanche, a silver sedan and a red motorcycle on the scene, all firing multiple shots at each other before fleeing down Givhans Ferry Road.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered multiple spent cartridge casings in the parking lot and gunshot damage was seen in the hood of one vehicle.

Diagonal to the incident location is Randall’s One, which the owner called to report that he also heard multiple gunshots and said a bullet went through his metal shed and struck his store.

Authorities searched the area for suspects but were unable to locate anyone.

Sgt. Richard Carson tells News 2 they do not currently have a description of the suspects, but the incident is under investigation.
