Embattled I-526 review continues in Columbia Wednesday

The I526 project is limping along in the state’s capital.

Wednesday the special subcommittee hearing on the project is set for 9:00 am in Columbia. The subcommittee was formed by the state’s Joint Bond Review Committee to review the amended contract and evaluate the financials for the embattled Interstate 526 project in Charleston County. 

Members of the committee include: Senator Thomas C. Alexander, Chairman Senator Paul G. Campbell, Jr.,  Representative Leonidas E. Stavrinakis, and  Representative J. Gary Simril.

The group will hear a presentation by the South Carolina Transportation Infrastructure Bank and one by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

After that, the group will discuss next steps.
