Georgetown carjacking suspects found in Columbia

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) – Two suspects wanted in a Georgetown carjacking investigation are now in custody after being found in Richland County.

Georgetown Police say Demetrius Lamar Jackson and Nautica Morgan carjacked two cars at a Georgetown Walgreens Friday night.

A woman driving a 2014 white Chevrolet Tahoe said a suspect held her at gunpoint and demanded she get out the car. She says she cooperated and the suspect left with her vehicle.

Police say witnesses observed a second man following the Tahoe in a black Nissan Maxima. That man reportedly attempted to rob a Boost Mobile in Columbia.

Officials say that’s where the clerk pulled out a handgun and gunfight occurred. The suspect fled, was picked up at a gas station and was taken to a hospital.

At the hospital, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office recovered the two vehicles. Arrest warrents will be obtained on both Jackson and Morgan for carjacking.
