Local News

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) – Significant rainfall on Sunday evening caused additional flooding, damage to schools, unsafe road conditions, and ongoing flash flood advisories, in addition to displacing many more students and staff members.

Due to these conditions, Georgetown County School District will remain closed for students on Tuesday, September 18, according to officials. All employees should report at regular times to their assigned locations on Tuesday, conditions permitting.

The meeting of the Georgetown County School District Board of Trustees, scheduled for Tuesday evening, is canceled as well.

Schools will reopen on Wednesday, September 19 on regular schedules, according to officials.
