Georgetown City Council passes face mask ordinance; goes into effect Friday morning

GEORGETOWN, SC (WCBD) – Georgetown City Council unanimously passed a face mask ordinance on Thursday.

The emergency ordinance requires face coverings to be worn in certain establishments due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials say the mandate goes into effect Friday at 9:00 a.m.

Georgetown County Council is expected to meet and discuss an ordinance at 2:00 p.m.
