Georgetown will offer sandbags Monday

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) – Georgetown officials will distribute sandbags again beginning at 7 a.m. Monday in Georgetown and Pawleys Island. 

With life threatening flooding expected in areas of Georgetown County next week, free pre-filled sandbags will be distributed to residents from – 5 p.m.on Monday until supplies run out at the following locations:

  • Waccamaw Middle School, 247 Wildcat Way, Pawleys Island. Residents are asked to access this site via Willbrook Blvd.
  • China Chill gas station, 7919 N. Fraser St. (near the Choppee Rd. intersection).

There will be no distribution at the Pawleys Island Recycling Center on Monday. Sandbags will be limited to 10 per household and residents will need to bring proof of county residency to pick up sandbags. Sandbags will only be provided for individuals who are present with proof of residency.
