CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD)- Spring in Charleston means it is time for the Charleston Antiques Show, hosted by the Historic Charleston Foundation.
The show exhibits furniture, fine art, and decorative arts from the 17th century to today. The event also showcases how to blend antiques with modern decor from around the world and locally.
This year’s event features the inaugural Design Pavilion, a collection of artisans who are known for their craftsmanship, creativity, and excellence in their field. Many of these artisans use traditional methods of craftsmanship with a modern twist.
The chair for this year’s event is the Right Honourable Nicholas E. A. Ashley-Cooper, 12th Earl of Shaftesbury, a descendant of one of the original eight Lords Proprietors of Carolina. He will give a talk about his lifeand work in the restoation of St. Giles House.
The Antiques Show runs fom March 15th to the 17th, with a much anticipated Preview Night on March 14th. Tickets are available on the HCF website, historiccharleston.org
