Hurricane Florence expected to speed up and gain strength as it moves towards the coastline

Hurricane Florence:  Florence is a Category 1 hurricane as of the 5pm update, with winds 85 mph. Hurricane force winds extend out 15 miles from the center while tropical storm for winds extend out 115 miles.The system has picked up speed moving the to west at 7mph. 

Florence is expected to gain strength as it moves in to more favorable water, predicted to become a major hurricane by the middle of next week. The model are coming into more agreement of a landfall along the Southeast coastline. While the latest track does have a potential land fall just to our north, our effects will be dependent on exact landfall, the size of the storm and the strength of Florence. All information is just to soon to say, so our bottom line hasn’t changed. While the Lowcountry is still within the cone of uncertainty still need to be prepping our hurricane kits and keeping a close eye on the storm.
