Authorities responded to Roper West Ashley just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 in reference to an infant child being deceased.

The father of the infant informed Charleston Police that he was supposed to drop his child off at daycare but he forgot to do so.

The father drove the infant to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Charleston County Coroner’s office is investigating the manner and cause of death. North Charleston Police are also investigating.
