IOP City Council to discuss lease agreement for Tidal Wave Water Sports

Local News

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – The future remains uncertain for a Lowcountry water sports company.

On Wednesday, the Isle of Palms City Council will meet to discuss Tidal Wave Water Sports which has been located at the IOP Marina for years.

The city voted last week not to keep the lease.

Tidal Wave’s owners said DHEC told them last year their dock is not properly permitted. They say they did not know and thought the city had the permit.

DHEC said it notified the company about the issue in September.

The agency also says the city told them they plan to pursue an ‘after the fact’ permit.

Tidal Wave Water Sports says for now they are open for business.
