James Island Charter HS on lockdown while law enforcement respond to activity in the area

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – Officials with the James Island Charter High School stated that at approximately 9:25 am, they were directed once again by the Charleston Police Department to go on a Heightened Security Code Yellow Lockout due to continued police activity in the area. 

At this time, all students and staff are safe on campus and that there is no threat on campus, officials with the James Island Charter High School stated.

At approximately 7:40 am, they placed the school on a Heightened Security Code Yellow Lockout due to police activity in the area, officials added. At approximately 9:15 am, officials were informed by the police that the incident in the area was over and it was safe to resume normal activities.
