In addition to the lane closures noted above, on Monday, August 27, and Wednesday, August 29, the South Carolina Highway Patrol will be slowly pacing traffic through the work zone as the girders are being installed across the eastbound lanes of the interstate, Norton added.
Officials state that drivers may experience up to 20 minutes of wait time for placement of each girder. The South Carolina Highway Patrol will clear traffic between each girder placement operation.
One lane of traffic will remain open, except during pacing operations. All scheduled times are approximate and dependent on the weather.
