Large tip left on $9.99 check at popular Lowcountry restaurant

Local News

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCBD) It was an act of kindness for one Lowcountry server.

A customer left a $100 tip on a check for $9.99 cents at Swig and Swine in West Ashley on Wednesday.

The large tip came with a note that reads: You were fabulous. Have a great night.

Now this happens a lot in the food and beverage business people get really nice tips from really nice people. It just puts your faith back in humanity and lets you know there really are good people out there, said Belinda Kowalski, who received the $100 tip. “When you love what you do, sometimes it pays off.”

Kowalski also says she received flowers on Thursday but does not know who they are from.

She says she simply must be doing something right.
