Lowcountry features highlighted in White House Christmas ornament

Local News

WASHINGTON (WCBD) – The White House on Monday unveiled its holiday décor, marking the Trump family’s second Christmas season in the White House.

A video posted to First Lady Melania Trump’s Twitter said “The People’s House @WhiteHouse is ready to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season!”

The video, which shows much warmer and more elegant Christmas decorations – making up for the white and silver drab look from 2017 – spotlights a touch of the Lowcountry.

An ornament hanging on a tree in the White House shows the marshlands of the Carolina coastline in front of what appears to be the Arthur Ravenel Bridge and includes an Egret, and a lighthouse.

That ornament can be seen 13 seconds into the video.
