Lowcountry gas prices rise as local averages jump over the last two weeks

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Gas prices are continuing to climb at the pump.

The costs of gas has jumped more than eight cents in the past two weeks.

Experts cite the Colonial Pipeline shutdown and a surge in corn prices to cause this effect.

According to Gas Buddy, the average cost of a gallon of regular gas costs:

  • $2.89 in Georgetown County
  • $2.86 in Charleston County
  • $2.84 in Colleton County
  • $2.83 in Berkeley, Dorchester, and Williamsburg Counties
