Lowcountry man charged with sexually assaulting a minor

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) –  The North Charleston Police Department responded to a call in reference to a past alleged sexual assault on March 13, 2018, according to the incident report.

Wednesday a judge denied bond for a man charged with molesting a child in his care.

 

According to the North Charleston Police Department, Michael Dean Duncan molested the child back in 2013.  

 

The incidents were initially reported to police in 2014, but he was not charged until the child’s therapist reported the incidents again earlier this year.  

The molestation happened several times between January and August 2013, according to a North Charleston Police report.

Duncan allegedly forced the young child to perform sexual acts on him, according to the incident report..

In a bond hearing Wednesday the judge denied bond on the sexual assault charge.
