CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is coming to the Lowcountry in late October. These events across the country celebrate survivors while raising money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.

The walk is taking place on Saturday, October 27th at 9:30 AM at North Charleston Riverfront Park (1001 Everglades Avenue). There’s still plenty of time to form a team, or fundraise for the event. Anyone who wants to start a team can drop by the American Cancer Society office (5900 Core Road, North Charleston) on Friday, September 28th from 7:30 AM- 10 AM for breakfast and registration. For more information on forming a team, click here.

On Thursday, October 4th, Making Strides is hosting a “Pink-Out Your Pups Yappy Hour” at the Hotel Indigo (250 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Mt. Pleasant). From 5-7 PM show off your dog’s favorite pink outfits and accessories while raising money for the American Cancer Society.

On Wednesday, October 10th from 6-10 PM, head out to NAPA Mt. Pleasant (1324 Theater Drive) for “Shimmer and Wine”. This is an evening of drinks and diamonds, toasting the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives. Raffle prizes will be given away during the event, including a necklace from Diamonds Direct. Tickets are available here.
