BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Paul Murdaugh, the 20-year-old charged in the death of Mallory Beach, is expected to be arraigned on May 6th in Beaufort County.

Murdaugh has been indicted on three felony charges by a Beaufort County Grand Jury: boating under the influence causing death and two counts boating under the influence causing great bodily injury.

He along with Mallory Beach and 4 others were on a boat back in February when it crashed into the Archer’s Creek Bridge. All occupants were ejected and Beach’s body was found a week later.

Authorities didn’t take the boat occupants’ blood alcohol levels because the South Carolina Dept. of Natural Resources couldn’t determine who the driver was.

All six were said to have been “grossly intoxicated,” according to law enforcement.

Murdaugh’s arraignment is set for Monday, May 6th at 11:30 a.m. inside the Beaufort County Judicial Center.
