Man facing charges following stand-off with SWAT team

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCBD)– A man is in custody following a 3 hour long stand off with police.

Shortly after 5:00pm Sunday evening, deputies responded to a home in the 1700 block of East Avalon Circle in West Ashley for a report of a domestic disturbance.

A woman reported that 47 year old Quentin Hale threatened her and attempted to assault her. When deputies tried to arrest Hale, he barricaded himself inside the home, reportedly with a firearm.  

The victim was not injured and was safely taken out of the residence. The SWAT team and Crisis Negotiators were on scene.

After 3 hours, Hale surrendered to authorities and was arrested.

He is facing domestic violence 3rd degree and attempted murder.

Hale has a previous record. In 2012, he faced 2 charges of property crime enhancement, burglary 2nd degree and was on a fugitive hold for Colorado.

Back in April 2018, he was charged with domestic violence 3rd degree and then in May, he faced 2 of the same charge.
