Mount Pleasant standoff ends as police take 2 into custody

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) -On February 12, 2018, at approximately 7:54 a.m., officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Highway 17 North in reference to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm.

A witness told officers that he heard a gunshot from the residence so a perimeter was established.

Using a loudspeaker, officers asked the individuals inside to exit the home. A female, Sadie Burnett, came out and told officers that no one else was inside. After establishing that a male was still inside the home, SWAT and negotiators continued their attempts to communicate with him.

At approximately 1:37 p.m., the male, Brandon Mullins, peacefully came outside to speak with officers.

Mullins has been charged with Domestic Violence in the 1st Degree as well as Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon.

Burnett has also been charged with Domestic Violence in the 1st Degree.

Both will be held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. There were no injuries during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.Keep checking counton2.com for real-time updates on this story.
