MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Mount Pleasant Waterworks will host a public hearing Monday night to discuss their upcoming plans. This is a chance for you at home to weigh in on the plans and ask questions.
This public hearing comes after a class action lawsuit was filed by several ratepayers claiming the utility company over-charged customers.
Mount Pleasant Waterworks addressed the claims and is now looking to provide more transparency to its customers.
Just some of the plans that will be discussed at Monday night’s hearing include the charges for the fiscal year beginning on July 1st. There will also be an overview of the five-year strategic plan, customer service enhancements, and operational excellence.
One ratepayer said he just moved to Charleston from North Carolina and noticed his water bill seemed high.
Monday night’s meeting gets underway at the council chambers starting at six-thirty p.m. If you can’t make Monday night’s meeting, there’s another opportunity for you to weigh in, happening Wednesday night at six-thirty at Wando High School.
