The Charleston Fire Department says a natural gas leak in Downtown Charleston has been “secured”. as of 8:28pm Thursday.
They say it was caused by a vehicle hitting the gas meter at the Security Finance Building at 542 King Street.
One building was evacuated. King street between Woolfe street and Cannon street is closed to traffic, but officials say it should reopen at around 9:00pm.
