NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The City of North Charleston will dedicate a new roadway, providing an additional connection between Fort Dorchester High School and Patriot Boulevard, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 1:30 p.m.

Currently, Fort Dorchester High School only has one point for all traffic, according to spokesperson Ryan Johnson.  The news release states that the new roadway will provide an alternate route in case of an emergency.

Its development coincides with the construction of the North Charleston Aquatics Center, which broke ground on August 8, 2018.

Naming of the road, in memory of a former Fort Dorchester High School student, will be unveiled at the ceremony, Johnson added
