New Study Shows Safest Cities in the State

Charleston, S.C. (WCBD) – The results are in! A new study shows Charleston is the safest city in South Carolina.

As a whole, the state of South Carolina has a violent crime rate that exceeds the national average. It’s also ranked as the 47th safest state for property crime with one of the highest occurrences per capita. 

If we take a closer look at Charleston, there were 388 violent crimes in the city—this is roughly 3 crimes per 1000 people. There were also more than 3100 property crimes which comes out to about 23 crimes for every 1000 residents.
