NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – Boeing this week announced former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has been nominated to serve on the company’s board of directors.
Boeing Chairman and CEO Dennis Muilenburg said Haley was nominated because of her “outstanding record of achievement in government, industry partnership, and successfully driving economic prosperity.”
The company’s shareholders are set to vote during their annual meeting in April.
Haley released a statement regarding her nomination, saying: “It’s an honor to have the opportunity to contribute to Boeing’s continued success as a cutting-edge industry leader and a great American company.”
Haley stepped down as governor in 2017 to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations under President Trump, but later resigned from that position in December of 2018.
