Local News

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Two North Charleston police cruisers were involved in a wreck late Monday evening.

According to Trooper Matt Southern with South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision happened on Remount Road near North Rhett just after 11:00 p.m.

One cruiser was traveling in the left lane when it swerved to avoid something in the road, which then hit a second police cruiser in the right lane. The car ran off the roadway and hit a power pole.

The driver of the car that was hit in the right lane was transported to MUSC for evaluation. We are told they are fine.

Dominion Energy (SCE&G) was called out to replace the broken pole.
