North Charleston, SC (WCBD) – One man is in the hospital after being shot Tuesday morning. North Charleston Police responded to reports of a shooting on Cancha Lane.

According to Spencer Pryor, Public Information Officer for North Charleston Police Department, officers found the man in the yard of a home suffering from gunshots wounds.

He was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina. The status of his condition is unknown at the time.

Police say the victim would not tell them why or how he was shot.

According to dispatchers from the Charleston County 911 Center, the call for the incident came in at 4:06 a.m.
