COLLETON COUNTY S.C. (WCBD)-  One person is dead after a motorhome crashed into the woods.

The Colleton County Coroner, Deputy Richard Carter confirmed the fatality just before 10p.m.

According to Colleton County Fire Chief, Barry McRoy, the accident happened just after 7:30pm on

I-95 N. at the 62 mile marker.

A motorhome went of the road, hit some trees, and caught on fire. The crash ignited a fire in the woods.

Emergency crews are working to put on the motorhome fire.

One person suffered burns and was flown to the burn center in Augusta, GA.

According to a Colleton County Fire tweet, traffic is backed up for several miles.

The northbound lanes remain blocked.

The Colleton County Fire Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and Colleton County Sheriff’s Department remain on scene.
