One person rescued from house fire in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – One person was rescued from a burning home in North Charleston early Friday morning.

According to Stephanie Julazadeh with the North Charleston Fire Department, dispatch received a 911 call at 7:34 a.m. regarding a structure fire in the 5000 block of Poole Street.

We’re told neighbors on scene reported that there were two occupants in the home.

Upon arrival, fire crews observed a residential structure fire with smoke coming from the roof of the home and one occupant was located on the front porch.

Firefighters then entered the home and rescued another occupant inside.

Julazadeh said both were treated by Charleston County EMS.

An investigation on the cause of the fire is underway. North Charleston, Charleston and St. Andrews Fire Departments all responded to the scene.
