Police investigating early morning shooting incident in Downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Dispatch received the initial call about 2:00 a.m., about shots fired near King Street and Ann Street, according to the Public Information Officer Charles Francis.

Witnesses told police a man fired several shots and fled the scene on foot towards Meeting Street. The suspect has not been arrested, Francis added.

Authorities state that no one was injured.

Officers found a window at the Visitors Center damaged along with a vehicle, Francis stated. Authorities cannot confirm at the moment on how many shots were fired.

Investigators are gathering information to determine a motive for the incident.
