WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCBD) – The arrest affidavit from a double homicide in West Ashley revealed that one of the victims shot and killed the other victim moments before being shot himself.

15-year-old Talekuz Williams and 17-year-old Juquel Young were killed in a shooting at Ashley Oaks Apartment Sunday.

In a news conference Wednesday, Charleston Police announced they arrested 17-year-old Zamere Brown for the murder of Williams, only one of the two victims.

The arrest affidavit provided Thursday show that police believe Williams shot Young, before Brown shot Williams.

Police say surveillance video shows a group of black males standing together outside of the basketball court. It then shows Williams, identifiable by a clothing description, shooting Young.

Court documents say that’s when Williams attempted to run away on foot into the parking lot, but was chased down and shot in the back. Police say 17-year-old Zamere Brown is responsible for shooting Williams. Police say after shooting Williams, Brown briefly looked at Young before leaving the scene.

Police said a witness identified Brown on the surveillance footage and in a six-person photo line-up.

Brown is charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He appeared before a judge in bond court Thursday.

Brown received no bond for the murder charge and a $100,000 surety bond for the gun charge.
