Polling machine disabled following technical issue at Ft. Dorchester High School
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) - Voters at Fort Dorchester High school experienced long lines Tuesday morning due to a reported technical issue.
An official with the Dorchester County Election commission said an outlet short-circuited early Tuesday which rendered four voting machines disabled.
That machines were taken offline and removed from the polling location.
Several other machines were on hand to handle the constant flow of voters. A spare machine was brought in just in case any new problems arise.
Poll workers say the issue did not necessarily cause a back-up of voters, but more people are actively participating this election, bringing longer lines.
