NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – Railroad work is set to begin this month and will impact traffic in both Berkeley and Charleston counties.

According to the city of North Charleston, CSX Railroad is planning to make repairs to the Montague Ave railroad tracks between Gaynor Avenue and Railroad Avenue on, or around May 30th.

Berkeley County closures will occur in the City of Hanahan. They include: Mabelene Road/State Road, Stokes Avenue/Railroad Ave, & Hanahan Rd/Railroad Ave. Work will happen around May 28th.

Drivers can expect detours to be in place for a few days. North Charleston city officials say work could last up between two to five days.

We are also told dates for work to begin could change.
