Residents under boil water advisory after car hits fire hydrant in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCBD) – Residents living in Hollywood, Ravenel and Meggett have been placed are under a boil water advisory after a car hit a fire hydrant Friday morning.

Captain Roger Antonio with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 162 at the intersection of Salters Hill Rd and Towles Rd. just after 8:00 a.m.

One of the cars hit a fire hydrant and flipped over. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Charleston Water officials have not yet established which customers are impacted, but they are working to identify those customers and make necessary repairs.
