SCDOT to repair bridge on Delemar Highway, Southbound Lanes Friday morning

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – SCDOT has closed the southbound lanes on a Charleston County bridge on SC 165 (Delemar Highway) due to problems with the bridgedeck.

The northbound lanes have been inspected and are safe.

The problem area is approximately one-third of a mile south of Hyde Park Road.

SCDOT is allowing traffic to flow in both directions in the northbound lanes. Drivers shoulduse extra caution in that area for their own safety and the safety of the workers who are directing traffic.

A detour will be in place Friday Morning, May 10th.

Southbound drivers can take Hyde Park Road to County Line Road, County Line Road to Davison Road, Davison Road to Savannah Highway.
Savannah Highway will get you back to Hwy 165 if you take Old Jacksonboro Road.

SCDOT says work will begin Friday morning to repair the bridge with a goal reopening it over the weekend.

SCDOT urges motorists traveling in this area to use extra caution for the safety of everyone.
