Police on the Isle of Palms say a truck hit a power pole on 45th Avenue Tuesday, causing wide spread power outages.
As of 1:30pm, 2,500 Isle of Palms SCE&G customers on the island are without power.
IOP police say power will be out at least through 4:00pm while crews make repairs to the pole and power line.
Area without power include 42nd Ave to the Northeast tip of the island, most of Wild Dunes, Dewees, Capers & Bulls Islands.
