SCE&G is cutting gas service in the historic district of Georgetown

Local News

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – SCE&G is cutting gas service to Front Street and everything from East Bay Street to the marsh in the historic district of Georgetown, according to spokesperson Jackie Broach

This area may need to be expanded as far as Meeting Street.

Customers will receive automated messages about service change, and workers are knocking on doors to talk with homeowners as they prepare to cut service, Broach added.

SCE&G is working with business customers on Front Street to accommodate any requests to help them remain open for the rest of the day, officials stated. This action is necessary to prevent damage to meters and regulators and limit the amount of time it will take to get service restored after flooding.
