UPDATE: 3:30PM: All lanes of I-26 are now open after an overturned tractor trailer, fire closed interstate for much of the day.
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Emergency crews extinguish fire associated with an overturned tractor-trailer on I-26 early this morning, according to Lance Corporal Matt Southern with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
All westbound lanes of I-26 are now open, Southern stated. Eastbound lanes remain closed at the 187 exit. Crews continue to diligently work to get scene clear on the eastbound side.
Traffic on the eastbound side of I-26 near the 189 milemarker are being flushed between the two detour points, Southern added.
Trooper Southern stated that detours still remain eastbound at the 187 exit and westbound at the 194 exit.
