CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – Comcast customers throughout the Charleston area complained about service outages on Monday.
A company spokesperson, Alex Horwitz later addressed the temporary outage saying a gunshot damaged their advanced fiber network which caused a service outage across parts of the region.
Horwitz said the incident happened about two miles from the Charleston Headend Facility which is located near the corner of Chicora Avenue and English Street in North Charleston.
“Our repair team was on-site immediately and began work to bring service back online as quickly as possible,” he said.
While service was fully restored late Monday, Horwitz said they do regret the inconvenience that it caused their customers.
