NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Hundreds of Lowcountry students battled for the number one spot in aquatics this morning. Robotic aquatics that is.

The 8th annual Charleston Seaperch Challenge took place at the Danny Jones pool in North Charleston.

Seaperch is an innovative underwater robotics program that provides students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering, science and mathematics, all while learning problem-solving, teamwork, and technical applications.

The winner today in the high school division was Charleston Charter Math and Science team #8. Buist Academy team #13 won the middle school division title.

Both teams will be heading to the National Championship at Dartmouth Massachusetts in June.
