Summerville murder suspect faces judge

SUMMERVILLE, S.C.(WCBD) – The Lowcountry man who authorities say is responsible for a fatal shooting in Summerville faced a bond court judge, Saturday.

Members of the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force arrested Gregory Anson Glenn Jr., 25, of Summerville in connection with the shooting death of Cassandra Smalls.

Authorities say at approximately 11:15 p.m. on May 17, the Summerville Police Department responded to 3 Café in reference to a shooting.  A caller reported hearing several gunshots as patrons fled the parking lot, according to Captain Cassandra Williams.  

Officers found a male administering CPR to a female, later identified as Cassandra Smalls, 25, of Summerville, with gunshot wounds, Williams said. Officers continued lifesaving efforts until EMS arrived.  

Smalls later died from her injuries, Williams added.

At the hearing, Gregory A. Glenn Jr. received a $25,000 surety bond for the weapon possession charge and no bond for murder.
